Near the Netherlands city Leeuwarden, which is located in the middle of the region Friesland, far away from the coastline and the North Sea, you have a nice sandy beach on the lake Lytse Wielen. It has the same name as the lake and goes by the name Strand Lytse Wielen, it is a family type beach, which is very easy accessible with any kind of vehicle. All around the area you have plenty of parking places available, motorhomes can also park here. It will take you some 200m of walking from the parking place to reach the beach. The path to the beach is very nice. Although the main surface on the beach is sand, you also have plenty of grass fields. The beach has a total length of 200 m and is 40 m wide. But you also have lots of grass area, which makes the beach even more wide. It is a very flat area, which makes the water entry very nice. Because the water is very shallow, the swimming point is at around 50 m. U have lots of beach infrastructure and services available here, children playground included.
