The Dutch harbour city Urk, located in the region Flevoland, has two beautiful sandy beaches to offer. The second one, which is a family beach is called Strand Staversekade. It is very easy to reach with any kind of vehicle and you have a large parking place some 750m away from the beach. When walking down the path to the beach, you can admire the beautiful Dutch architecture. Before you arrive to the beach you can also take a look at the old harbour with many interesting ships. The total length of the beach, which has a quite large area, is 250 m with a 50 m width. This beach is very flat, which makes the water entry very nice and the swimming point is already at 5 m. Because this is actually a city harbour beach, you have lots of beach infrastructure located here with a children playground and a small sports field included. On the beach you also have a fast food kiosk and some restaurants in the neighbourhood. Accommodation is also available in the city in the form of apartments.
