Rotterdam has really some special beaches. There are not many places in the world where you could go on a sandy beach almost in the middle of the world's most biggest harbours, at least in Europe it is the biggest one. On the one side you can enjoy the sandy beach an on the other side you can watch the loading and unloading of world's most biggest ship containers. This beach, called Strand Maasvlakte, is recommended for an adventurer type of beach user, you have here almost no beach infrastructure, no restaurants and of course also no accommodation. This beach is located in the Dutch region Zuid-Holland and is very easy to reach with any kind of vehicle. You can park on a very large parking place only 50 m away from the beach. To access the beach you need to walk over a 5 m high dune, over some very steep stairs. The beach is several kilometres long and more than 100 m wide. It has a nice water entry and the point of swim is at around 50 m. Close to the beach there is also a part of the beach which is reserved for nudist and a part for sport activities, dogs are also allowed here.
