Strand Heiligenhafensee

How about a beach on the German Binnensee. In a way it is a lake, but still connected via a small canal to the sea. One is for sure, this beach is new, it is artificial, but nonetheless very nice and beautiful constructed. it is located in the north German city Heiligenhafen, where most of the beaches are facing towards the Baltic Sea, but this one is facing towards the inland. The region this beach belongs to is called Schleswig-Holstein. You can reach this beach very easy with any kind of vehicle, also with a motorhome. It takes you only 30 m from the parking to reach the beach. The total length of the beach is 750m and it can be on some places up to 25 m wide. The lake is very flat what makes also the point of swim at around 50m. You have a lot of beach infrastructure here, also a sport ground and some children playgrounds. What I really like about this beach are the specially designed summer benches, which all face towards the sun, so you can maximize your sun tan. If you are an owner of a boat you also have a harbour here. Many options are also available for accommodation, if you would like to stay here for longer.
