The Netherlands city Groningen, which is located in the region with the same name, has a nice sandy beach to offer for your visit. This beach is not located on the coastline by the sea, but on the lake Hoornseplas and has also the same name Strand Hoornseplas. It is a family type beach, with lots of grass and natural shadow (trees), very shallow water and a big children playground. If you like all those characteristics and you would like to visit it, it is very easy to reach with any kind of vehicle, also with smaller motorhomes. You can park on a large parking place only 200m away from the beach. Although the parking place has a height barrier of 2.75 m and on one parking place of 3 m. The path to the beach is very nice and also handicapped people can reach the beach. The whole beach area has lots of surface, so you can choose either to stay on the sand or on the grass. All together the total length of the beach is 750 m and the part with the sand is 30 m wide. The green part of the beach is even more wider, some 100 m. The water entry is very nice and because of the shallow water the point of swim is at 75 m. Many beach services and infrastructure is available here. You also have plenty of options to get something to eat. Accommodation is also not a problem; you can stay either in a hotel or rent an apartment.
